«Meet the Team»: Andrew Schuster
Grüezi, Guten Tag, Hello, Bonjour, Ciao, Hej… Andrew Schuster greets people in all these languages and more! Born in Canada with Swiss roots, Andrew has been responsible for international sales at NZZone for nearly seven years. Before joining NZZone, he spent over five years at Nestlé. In addition to his multilingual skills, Andrew has a variety of talents shaped by his experiences both abroad and at home. Here, he reveals a few of his secrets.

Besides your current job, what is one skill you’re so good at that people would pay you for it?
I’d have to say my cooking skills. I could spend all day in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes. I love bringing my family together and surprising them with new creations. Even as a child, I enjoyed trying things out in the kitchen. After a long day at my desk, working with my hands in the kitchen helps me unwind.
What are you most passionate about?
I love traveling and discovering new cultures from around the world. Engaging in discussions and learning about different perspectives helps me understand cultural differences, which is incredibly useful in my daily work. I also enjoy trying new dishes in the countries I visit and then recreating them in my own kitchen at home.
Which NZZ product do you like the most?
The one I enjoy the most is the daily «Neue Zürcher Zeitung». It’s the perfect way to start the day, keeping me informed about everything happening in the world. The in-depth analyses and detailed reporting are truly special. I’m always impressed by the well-researched and engaging articles. In a fast-paced world, staying up to date can be a challenge, but with the NZZ – in both print and online – I feel well-informed and ready for the day.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
No two days are the same in my role because I communicate with clients and representatives from all over the world. That’s what makes my job so interesting – each day brings new challenges and opportunities. I really enjoy my work because I get to interact with different cultures, and closing deals often requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity. Quick responses to inquiries and innovative solutions for client needs are essential. All in all, every day is different – and that’s what makes my job so exciting.
