«Meet the Team»: Anja Ruoss
Welcome Anja Ruoss 😻 Since mid-April Anja has been working as a multimedia storyteller for Sustainable Switzerland – an initiative of the NZZ company accompanied by strong partners from business and science. Before joining NZZone, Anja worked for Tamedia for almost five and a half years, most recently as news editor and site manager of the «Tagi» newspaper. The Cat Lady (tip: read on) studied Multimedia Production at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons. Anja reveals what else drives her in the new «Meet the Team».
What does next year hold for you?
I will be 30 next year. It was a bit intimidating at first, but now I’m looking forward to it. Perhaps also because I will be spending my birthday under the Caribbean sun. I have also planned more trips and resolved to have more time for new and old hobbies.
What do you like doing most of all?
My great passion is horse riding. I have also recently discovered diving. On the back of a horse or under water, the world around me becomes silent and I feel freer than anywhere else.
What was the first thing you wanted to be when you were a child?
As a child, I wanted to be a princess. But without a prince of the same age and a Swiss monarchy, I unfortunately had to give up this dream early on – just like my goal of exploring the local reefs as a marine biologist. Fortunately, however, I discovered my passion for journalism and the media early on – a passion which continues to this day.
How would your work colleagues describe you?
Perhaps as a «Childless Cat Lady»? Although I would take that as a compliment 😉
What do you like best about your new job?
In my new role in the Sustainable Switzerland team, I am responsible for a wide range of areas and tasks. This means that no two days are the same. I get to work on exciting projects, meet interesting people and learn new things. I really like this variety.
