«Meet the Team»: Gabi Holenstein

Welcome, Gabi 🌟 Gabriela Holenstein joined the NZZone sales team as Key Account Manager on 1 May. Before joining us, Gabi had already worked in the media industry for more than 13 years, where her career began in internal sales and ultimately led her to advertising sales. Gabi, born in Switzerland with Caribbean roots (one of her parents comes from the Dominican Republic) reveals what characterises her in the current «Meet the Team».

What are the new challenges that you are looking forward to in your job?

I look forward to providing my clients and partners with comprehensive and up-to-date advice, taking into account both traditional approaches and modern needs. Because print does not have to be reinvented to remain relevant. Creative thinking and storytelling can revitalise newspapers and magazines in innovative ways: visual stories, behind-the-scenes insights, etc.

What do you like doing most of all?

I like to occupy myself with writing. It allows me to perceive and process my thoughts and emotions. In doing so, I consciously make time for myself.

Is the glass half full or half empty for you?

I have learnt that a glass cannot always be full or empty at the same time. Instead, I act according to the situation and take a step back or go full throttle.

What advice would you give your twenty-year-old self for the future?

Trust yourself. You are capable of much more than you think. Trust your judgement. Be brave and believe in yourself! And very importantly: live in the moment.

Besides your current job, what do you do so well that people would pay you for it?

Planning events and surprises. My strength in organisation and my attention to detail can help create unforgettable moments. The opportunity to make people happy always brings a smile to my face.
